Good nutrition is important for a variety of reasons. It provides the body with essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that are necessary for maintaining good health. Proper nutrition can also help prevent chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers. Some key components of a healthy diet include consuming a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. It is also important to limit the intake of processed and high-fat foods, as well as sugary beverages and snacks. The effects of malnutrition in the growth and development in our community are irreversible hence some of our beneficiaries may never realize their full life potential. Thus, as Compass Action Child Support Program
To promote Compass Action, comprehensive sexuality education is essential. This education should cover a wide range of topics, including human anatomy and physiology, contraception, STIs, healthy relationships, and gender and sexuality. The education should also be age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and gender-sensitive. Access to youth-friendly health services is also critical to promoting ASRH. These services should be confidential, non-judgmental, and respectful of young people’s autonomy. Services should include information and counseling on Compass Action issues, as well as access to contraception, STI testing and treatment, and pregnancy testing and counseling.
Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) are essential components of human health and well-being. WASH refers to a set of interrelated interventions that aim to improve access to clean water, basic sanitation facilities, and hygiene education to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases and improve overall health.
We strengthen formal and informal child protection mechanisms to keep children safe from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation. We work with parents and caregivers to help them care for their children without violence and we ensure that vulnerable children received the support and protection services they need.
We work with the government and partners to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and child malnutrition by scaling up high-impact interventions, advocating for improved health systems and working on social norms and behavior change.
We work with partners to strengthen resilience, which includes delivering cash transfers and providing life skills training to young people. We also offer financial services through savings groups and train women and youth
We help young children access early education (both pre-primary and primary), which allows them to develop literacy and numeracy skills through play. We also help out of school children in Dadaab refugee camp access primary education through the Alternative Basic Education centres.
